Senator Charles Grassley talked about his views on the nomination of Judge Sonia Sotomayor to the Supreme Court, and he responded to telephone calls and electronic correspondence. Senator Grassley questioned Judge Sotomayor in the second day of her confirmation hearings. He has said that he is troubled and concerned by some aspects of the nomination, especially regarding the question of "empathy" which President Obama stated was a basis for the Sotomayor nomination.
